This is our second visit to the Oasis that is Innishnee and Cill Cottage. We
are returning to
We ate lovely seafood at O’Dowds
and we highly recommend Mitchell’s Restaurant in Clifden.
The weather has been lovely- we swam in the Atlantic at Dog’s Bay – very refreshing,
walked Diamond Hill in
May is a great time to come here with hundreds
of foals being born about the countryside. The long days make exploring the
island and surrounding area possible and
loved gazing out of the window to the twelve bens until darkness fell and then
we sat by the open peat fire drinking Guinness until the early hours !!
Without doubt we will be back

We had another ( 3rd
) stay here and once again it was fantastic. The snow added to the cottage
being the perfect Getaway from city life…….. and it
was hard to leave – we ended up staying another night. We will be back again

What a delightful place to unplug from the busy
world and spend time with family. The views out of the
windows is superb and ever changing. Do not miss the Cliff of Moher and Kylemore Abbey. We
enjoyed the long walks around the island, feeding all the horses with carrots
and apples while
enjoying the beautiful surroundings.
Took a bike ride and watched the fishermen pull their lobster pots by
evening. Do not miss the wonderful seafood on offer in the village restaurants.

We arrived on a beautiful sunny but cool day and
our first impression of Cill Cotatge
was all we expected and more. The sunrise and sunset each day were glorious. We
toured Roundstone, Clifden,
Kylemore Abbey,

Geraldine, we came here to get away from it all !! We found a place so cosy, peaceful and beautiful. Our
nights were spent eating well in front of a lovely peat fire with a DVD.
Neither of us can remember when we watched “The Quiet man “
before ! We have taken a few of your business cards home to pass around
as we know so many people who would love it here. Although we are sad to be
leaving we are really looking forward to coming back in the not too distant

beautiful spot and a great location for day trips in the area. Coming “home “ to Cill Cottage after a day sightseeing is the icing on the

Has been great reading the thoughts and
experiences of all those who have had the priviledge
of staying here at Cill Cottage. Despite what
everyone chooses to do we all seem to agree this is one gorgeous place to relax
and unwind. We have enjoyed our 6 days here immensely – from visiting Roundstone Village, climbing the hill in the village and
the beautiful drive up the coast to Clifden, the Sky
Road, the fantastic beaches at Roundstone.The
surroundings and weather have surpassed our expectations. Thanks Geraldine for

I could tell you about the stunning sunrise that
wakes you up just so that you can take a picture of it, or about the reflection
of the moon on the water, that wants to make you stay awake, or about the
amazing number or stars on a clear night.
I could tell you that after a few days in these
wonderful surroundings you wont even remember the
meaning of stress anymore. But seeing as you are reading this, then you must be
at the cottage and seeing this for yourselves. I hope you enjoy every minute of
your stay as we certainly did. We have been here for 3 weeks Thanks Geraldine
for all your hospitality and help. We will be back next year.

A magical place like this
changes by the hour, we have seen many versions this week. Have a look
at the “Impressions of
Sometimes in life you find a special place –
somewhere there is peace and tranquillity – such a place is right here – The
Isle of Innishnee. Snuggled between Roundstone and the mountains you can watch the changing
patterns on the quiet bay and the mountain slopes from Cill
Cottage. Take a walk around the island to see the old and new cottages and the
lovely hand built stone walls that surround them. What a truelly
beautiful week it has been – the island showing off it’s
best with the sun beating down on it all week. Can recommend Roundstone House for great food and O’ Dowds.

A fantastic week – we could not have wished for
anything better. The cottage and it’s brilliant
position was as we had imagined and more. We both feel totally relaxed and
ready once again to face the bustling noisy real world. We love this part of

We had the best week holiday ever
. The view from the cottage is amazing and always changing from sunrise
to sunset. We enjoyed exploring the area and walking the roads around Innishnee, Dog’s bay,
On the drive to Clifden
the views are superb, of mountains and of the little bays. Clifden
is a great place to shop and Roundstone is a great
place to chat to the friendly locals. We do not want to leave but we are

Cill Cottage is all we could
have hoped for – and more! The cottage is so comfortable and very peaceful – we
feel very rested. The views from these windows changes

Me birdsong around the cottage and peace of the
island are very special.We have loved it in all

A lovely place to get away for it all – the quietness of Innishnee is wonderful. The cottage has being a lovely
place to come back to in the evenings, with our resident hare and robins in the
garden. A sea Otter even swam around the headland at one point. Curling up in
front of the fire was the perfect way to finish the day and Saturday’s sunrise
was a great way to start it.

Cill Cottage is the most
tranquil place we have ever been – no kidding. We feel so chilled out and healthy.I had a swim in the bay at Gurteen
beach today and feel so invigorated.This beach is a
must see for any visitor to the area and only a short drive through Roundstone Village, itself a picturesque gem.We have been blessed with warm sunshine and blue skies
which added to the serene bliss, which is the haven that is Innishnee.

Our third visit to Cill
Cottage is ending and it is back to our own Church Cottage in the UK.We’ll be taking lots of memories with us to call on when
the going in the classroom gets tough.Highlights this
year have included live music in the streets of Roundstone,
as part of the Summerfest, the buzz of Clifden on Connemara Pony Show
Day and the heart stopping beauty of the areas beaches.We
have not strayed too far from here – walking on the island every morning and as
always along the headland and beaches of Gurteen and
Dog’s Bay. On the day it rained we became aquainted
with the birds that live in the stone walls around the cottage. Thanks
